AWANA Ministry Awana Workers are not ashamed! |
|
II Timothy 2:15:
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.”
Our AWANA program consists of four segments: the Flag
Ceremony; Game Time; Handbook Time; and Council Time.
We open each
Wednesday evening by meeting on the Sports Court for the Flag
Ceremony. This is where we say the pledge to the American Flag,
the Christian Flag and the Bible. We sing our AWANA theme
song and close in a word of prayer.
Game Time is where we
come together as a group and play many fun games on the
Sports Court. These games are designed to teach
clubbers good sportsmanship and help them to learn how to
work together as a team. This is fun for the clubbers as
well as leaders.
During Handbook Time
clubbers and leaders break into groups for a time of
prayer and Scripture reciting. Scripture memorization and
understanding is often a first time experience for many
clubbers. It is a great time for hiding God’s Holy and
precious Word in the hearts of the children.
Council Time includes
a Bible Story Time with Pastor Hughes, an exciting
experience where clubbers, and sometimes leaders,
take part in acting out the Bible Story. Pastor Hughes follows
the story with a life application process, which
teaches clubbers how to use what they have learned in their
everyday lives. This time concludes with an invitation for
salvation.
